Keeping Your Computer Safe with Free Anti Virus and Free Firewall by: Mitchell Steadman

McAfee and Norton are good services but they have fluctuating prices.  They also like to send you non-stop popups when your subscription expires, especially McAfee.

AVG is a good antivirus program that is free.  You can scan attachments and your computer for viruses.  You can always upgrade for additional features but I have kept the free version now for a long time.  It doesn't hog up a lot of room on my computer's hard drive either.

ZoneAlarm is a great and free firewall.  After I uninstalled McAfee from my computer I needed a firewall immediately.  ZoneAlarm keeps intruders, hackers, and unwanted websites out of your computer making it less likely that it will be hijacked.  Anytime it doesn't recognize a connection, it will block it until you give it your authorization.  ZoneAlarm keeps you in power!
